The trip home from work usually takes a while because I have a twenty-minute transfer at the bus station. The bus comes every half an hour so sometimes I get very lucky and the bus before the one I usually take comes late enough for me to catch it and skip the transfer time. Like today.

Someone found the cache!!!! I'm so proud :) This person finished the puzzle 95% by themselves and even persevered after we found errors in the puzzle! And climbed the tree! It is a damn fun tree to climb but when it rains and the tree sways in the wind and it's dark that's a special flavour of terror. Then, I bought a pair of sneakers and some flats. They were on sale and I think I've finally met a pair of flats I like. It was a beautiful day out today, not too windy, nice colours in the trees, undergrowth suppressed. Today, Prof Eric forwarded me a job inquiry dude from a transportation firm. Nobody's ever actually told me they want to talk to me about job opportunities. Not sure if I really wanna work for them because... but I don't want to say no. It would be a good experience, they do good stuff, they have a Waterloo office, and I haven't worked for them yet. But I don't actually do what this guy specializes in: my skills are mostly in general multimodal design and Autocad. Also... Jenny grew up wild, like a blackfoot daisy Out in the shack with a blue tick hound Broke as hell, but blessed with beauty The kind that a rich man can't turn down She caught the eye of an oil man dancing One summer night in a dime store dress She had the looks, he had the mansion And you can figure out the rest Aside from the obvious similarities to He was a boy She was a girl Can I make it any more obvious He was a punk She did ballet What more can I say There is something strangely compelling about the first lines of Church Bells. Maybe because it hits all the right tropes, or the amount of detail that is provided in just a few words.

I dreamed I was the elder princess of a small kingdom. I visited another kingdom on a state visit. It looked like Kitchener and the castle was a suburban home. I tried to escape but I had to stab a man in the ear, and when I did that I pushed a crochet needle through his ear and dragged his eyeballs out his other ear. I ran through Kitchener as his wife drove after me, and I passed a subdivision that I'd seen before... My younger sister's presence was requested by the other kingdom for a marriage alliance but I said NO WAY and rallied the army to counterattack. I think there were faeries. The fort was a massive geode with blue crystals. -- Yesterday I bought ludicrously high heels for a photoshoot with intentions to return them afterwards... but I kind of like them :(

The most chilling detail in Fahrenheit 451, I think, is the concept of minimum rather than maximum speeds. It wouldn't ever happen in real life - for engineering design and safety reasons - except in isolated cases like the Autobahn - but, yeah, it's kind of the norm nowadays anyways. -- Today I went to Value Village (or, Valû Villäĝ, if you feel fancy) and picked up the whole Mage Winds trilogy, the Mage Storms trilogy, and Exile's Valor. Exile's Valor is a book I read as a young sprog that I've enjoyed ever since. The other two trilogies are in the same universe, but I haven't ever gotten into them in the same way, and don't recall the plot of. I also bought a shirt. H&MI thought that I wanted a white ruffled shell, so I bought it without trying it on because it looked like it was in the right size, and for $10, what could go wrong? A lot. A lot could go wrong. The ruffles feel very tentacly in person. This may have been a mistake.

I ate lunch at Cafe Maxim's at Leslie/Finch with J, his dad, two of his aunts, his brother, and his brother's girlfriend. Cafe Maxim has really awful reviews but my experience was fine. The salad walked like a salad and quacked like a salad. The green curry didn't taste particularly fresh, but meat was tender. The green tea mousse cake was delightfully fluffy and not too sweet. Then I bought this cardigan for me and this belt for my dad. And my wallet went to boop boop land. Today, my dad dropped me off near TEGH so I could grab a few caches before dinner with Monica. Totally successful, including one incident where my GPS started LYING and I spent a good five minutes kowtowing the Walter Stewart library sign looking for the cache, but it ended up being behind the bench occupied by several muggles.
But I couldn't get it without being seen, so I read The Penelopiad until they left.
Dinner was "Twilight Tea" at the Windsor Arms Hotels. I'm not convinced of the actual value of the meal, strangely filling as delicate scones and little sandwiches may be.
Then two more caches, and DNF.
In total, I'm at 84 finds!

Slumberhouse - Pear + Olive
Finally arrived. I love it, my mom hates it.
Initial impression of very ripe pear, whiskey, coconut. Sweet, heavy, passes after two hours.
Drydown is delicious hay, olive oil, sweet dried flowers. The smell if you ravish a peasant girl in a Mercedes Lackey novel.

Today I climbed a gnarly tree about 50cm in diameter and it sucked because there were ants all over the tree. Also I should have read the cache comments more carefully - "no climbing required." :P Maybe try again next week. Also put in an order for 5mL of Pear+Olive.

I've actually been in internet rehab in Guelph since Wednesday (by accident, because my dad can't pick me up for another week...) - Renderings came in today! They're tiny and beautiful and I'm so excited!!! ( context) - Marks are coming in too! They're pretty good so far (91/87/89/91)! Just waiting on transit now (incidentally, the first exam...) but I think my average will end up in the 87-89 range unless something horrible happens! - On Thursday I went to Niagara Falls with J. Saturday, canoeing. I'm so predictableMore later, maybe. - I dreamed that I was doing an interview with Ben Gibbard. Then I was sabotaging valedictorial elections. Then I was making jewelery. I have this wicked idea for a pendant clasp right now.

I bought a dress for the dinner and graduation. It's nice. $99. This one. I was trying to avoid wearing dark colours for once but maybe 20% of the print is black and the rest of it is very bold. Though I only really picked it up because Winners/Marshalls does not stock a lot of size 0/2/XS stuff. That dress actually 1) fit, 2) was in flattering colours, 3) was of sturdy construction. If I was shopping from the site itself I think I might get something closer to dancing fans or draped rose or matador or milk & tar. Oh also when I got on the subway at Yonge/Bloor a man came out walking three graduated sizes of pugs!
