Movies I watched on the weekend:

The Heathers **

I should have enjoyed this but after they poisoned Heather with drain cleaner and killed shot football players and framed it as a suicide pact, I stopped watching. Maybe another time. Still a good movie.

The Road to El Dorado **

Two dudes on a road trip. I hate Chel and everything she stands for. It's not her fault. She's only there to defuse the homoerotic subtext between Tulio and Miguel (It doesn't work). I would like this movie a lot more if I didn't grimace every time Chel was onscreen.

Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas ***

I really liked this movie. There was a dude who didn't get the girl. The girl wasn't completely useless. Nobody made any particularly stupid decisions. Every single moment that Eris was onscreen was deliciously animated. A lot of crap past the radar. No missteps that I bothered noticing. At least three great moments, more than just the "how the hell did this get through" variety. I was happy.
Sinbad: [while it is cold and Kale is bare-chested] Put a shirt on, will ya?! Before you poke somebody's eye out!

Sinbad: A sword at my throat, at my chest, at my—
Random Sailor Passing Through In Background: PICKLES AND EGGS!
Sinbad: (awkward pause) You get the idea.
etc.

Treasure Planet **

^  Why I liked this movie.
Other than that, I couldn't stop thinking reboot KIRK. Caught in the act of joyriding? KIRK. Space ship? KIRK. Troubled but cute? KIRK. Ends up at military academy? KIRK. It's not a bad thing. I have a weakness for troubled-but-cute rebellious archetypes. Couldn't stand Morph, BEN, or the Doctor's animation.

Three of five midterm marks have been finalized. 91 in concepts (average: 80), 93 in calculus (average: about 60), 84 in physics (average: 57). All marks lost were due to the stupidest fuckups ever committed - not showing work, 182 looks like 187, actually ignoring half of a question, that kind of thing. I guess I'm a bit disappointed, but after a five weeks of a course that was essentially "you're going to fail" "if you don't study you're going to fail" "study this way or you're going to fail," I'm relieved. Though most of the no application reqd scholarships seem rather out of reach now.

I started talking to nightshade again. Surreal. Turns out BB is quite the gossip and BL is quite the voyeur. Mind was screwed. Something about Spock. Every time I look back her taste in fanfiction gets darker and darker... The last three stories she linked me were of 1) Incomplete John Constantine in Hogwarts, 2) Harry Potter as a... necrophiliac?? and 3) McGonagall and the insurance salesman. The first one was funny, in a snarky, off sense. The second was creepy. The third one was good. Read it, even if just for the title.

Update: 92 in chemistry. Seriously hating multiple choice right now.
