I have spent a most delightful holiday so far reading Hawke/Varric fanfiction, building miniatures, and assembling 3-D puzzles. I would have liked to spend some time sloppily draped over a library table reading some astrology rubbish or historical smut or a "For Dummies" handbook, but the library is closed. 

I hope your holiday is at least as lovely as mine! 
 

On Wednesday I went to the university, found myself unable to work, and read fanfiction until the phd student showed up with Poe Dameron's X-wing metal earth model. He needed help assembling it. I like doing fiddly models but there are probably 12 rolled tubes in this model and I really hate rolling the tubes for the gun tubes/ engines/ whatever. Then we realized that we'd put the decorative end caps on both ends of the guns instead of a cap on one end and a barrel on the other. The phd student lost his shit and lay on the ground literally ROFLing.

Then I went to Shivani's for DND. The best thing about Big Bang Theory (not that there are many to choose from) is that I can use it to explain to my mom what I'm doing late at night. Instead of saying "well, it's sort of a storytelling adventure, with dice, and I'm playing a druid..." I can say "Yknow that episode where they play that holiday game?"

We made it out of the pirate tavern, harassed a monk at the village library, summoned a ghost named Shaggy and convinced him he was The Chosen One so we could check a spellbook for booby traps, and interacted with the Deck of Many Things, that campaign-ruiner.

After that I had basically the greatest christmas ever and spent it all eating and doing holiday crafts.
