2019.06.01 09:33 - Fantasy League Update
  • Kind of a late update, but my Game of Thrones team this year flopped - thought baddies like Euron and Cersei would perform better than they did. Should also have known that Beric would survive more than two episodes, and get 100 points from lighting up his sword alone.
  • Installed a shelf to keep my ferns, palm, and prayer plant out of reach of kitties.
  • Not sure how I'm gonna overwinter my outdoor container plants this year - perhaps in the storage locker?
  • Finally booked a refresh for my hair colour.
  • D&D on roll20 was a success.
  • Beheaded my echeveria two weeks ago but it hasn't rooted yet...
  • Other bath bombs I have tried -
    • Intergalactic - really great for washing hair in
    • Twilight - washout
    • Geode - gold for general-purpose bathing
    • Black Rose - stained tub
    • Magic - not as good as intergalactic

Might as well start writing about it.

My bath journey started with a hotel tub in Samana. When I got home I bought a Blue Skies bubble bar from Lush.

Blue Skies Bubble Bar
  • Foams up alright, but is no match for Guelph hard water (~25 GPG, 400PPM in my area). Nice smell.
Since it wasn't cutting it I moved onto conventional bubble bath.

Dr Tealc's Teal's Pure Epsom Salt Lavender Foaming Bath
  • I picked this one because lavender is a relaxing smell and it came in a litre jug.
  • Foams well with about 60mL

Kind of wanted to sit in the tub a while longer after the bubbles were done though, so I branched out into bath bombs and melts.

Lush Yog Nog Bath Bomb
  • After half an hour in the bath my nose is usually not very sensitive to scents anymore... I can't comment on the smell but I found it nicely moisturizing and it looked like a scrambled egg as it melted because of the yellow bath oil in the white shell.
  • However, turned the bath water green. Was not into that.

Lush Cloak of Invisibility Bath Oil

  • Moisturizing, as promised, but for $6 I'd expect more pizzazz. Realized at this point I can replicate the effect of the bath oil with actual body oil.

Lush Floating Flower Bath Bomb
  • Lovely colour and effect. Moisturizing. Flower looked kind of sad though.

Lush Golden Pear Bath Bomb
  • Beautiful colour. Looked and smelled like grapefruit, or maybe that was the Apothic rosé, which tastes and looks like grapefruit juice? My favourite one so far.
  • This was the point where I realized that in addition to drinking wine I could also eat cheese in the tub.

To come: Intergalactic, Madame President, Twilight, and Melusine.

2019.04.07 18:55 - Bubble baths
Turns out I love bubble baths.

Exhibit A: A tub in Samaná

Bought a plug for the tub today and some bubble bars at Lush. It was nice. If we ever design our own house it would be nice to have a shower with a partition wall (no door), frosted on the inside to not look like crap from the hard water. Big tub, maybe with jacuzzi jets. Big countertop, with one sink, because sharing isn't always for losers. Shitter non-partitioned because it's still weird to take the Browns to the Super Bowl with company, so it would be pointless to partition it.

When I was in elementary school we dreamed up ways we'd redesign the upper girl's bathroom. We'd have stained glass, a golden fountain, and frescoes. The stall doors would have art deco inlays on the doors. I stand by that design.

Having the Hogwarts prefect's bathroom would be pretty sick too.
