anyone can fall apart, let's fall together
Home means being ok with taking a shower in the dark

I dreamt that I was at a strip club (thanks, 221). I recall the dancers were uncharacteristically very into audience participation. Also, unlike Remington's of the Tuesday Night Student Specials, the dancers were not male, but it was a rather nice strip club, even if the whole thing was shaped like the coliseum. In fact, I am reminded of the Oglaf comic "Sport" (NSFW). Meanwhile, the apocalypse passed over and everyone in the strip club was thrust into an alternate universe. All the dancers were transformed into knucklebone toys.

I began to make a living at a smoothie stand. However whenever I made a smoothie with too many berries or one that was too full, I would get chopped up and used as smoothie mix, which is conveniently lumpy and red. I didn't die after the many times I put too many berries in the smoothies, but eventually I ran for it and hid in a supermarket, where I decided that buying green tea bagels was a good idea. Then I woke up.

Nightshade and I had a lovely time downtown, but it was really damn cold. We went to Laywines, where I obtained a bottle of Waterman's ink in purple. She escaped with a Tintin pencil. This was followed by a short detour to the ROM gift shop and a complete failure to find any PATH entrances. A few more geographical fails later found us at the Silver Snail. Is it really that hard to get action figures' faces right???

Then, a bakery at Queen and Main. I ate the most expensive eclair of my life.

NO SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE HELL IS GALADRIEL DOING IN THE HOBBIT TRAILER? The lighting reminds me of the Aragorn/Arwen scene on the bridge. Gandalf has a rather awestruck look on his face, and Galadriel, who has been essentially married for the last few millennia, is pushing a strand of his hair back over his ear.

Apart from that - I like it. They've emphasized a lot of continuity things (understandable for marketing purposes, but I like continuity). The use of music (by Howard Shore <3) is excellent, especially if it pervades throughout.

Oh marks I guess those are important too.

CourseWeightGradeComments
Statics and solid mechanics 20.75 92Did pretty well on the exam, as expected.
Advanced calculus0.599Perfect on the exam, missed a minus sign on the midterm
Statistics0.593Did pretty ok on the exam, as expected.
Structures and properties of materials0.589I got the mark I deserved on the exam but I hope at least I named all the stress-strain curves correctly. Useless lab group.
Engineering economics0.585Did a lot worse than expected on the exam.
avg = 91.6

An ok effort considering how little I studied - those were easy finals. Good enough for maybe a #7 ranking if I'm lucky.
duinemerwen: (pretty ok)

That course had more lecture hours a week than the other ones - 4 hours lectures, two hour tutorials.
