Yesterday was my birthday. My mom get me a hat & gloves, my dad got me a book about Grumpy Cat, and Ying got me a cat-shaped mug and a bottle of rum that isn't available in Ontario from when she was in Cuba and tried All The Cocktails. Then since tomorrow is Mehdi's birthday the grad students ate chocolate cake. I learned that my supervisor got married when he was in 3rd year, during Christmas break.



I finished a full five pages of unhinged opinions about Lewis Mumford and should start trying to put the paragraphs together in a nice order. Hopefully I can finish a good rough draft by Sunday night. I spent the rest of the day playing video games and planning tomorrow's expedition into a muddy forest. I'm still addicted to holiday bon bons.
