2015.09.07 13:22 - MONICA GETS MARRIED

Saturday:

I went to Mississauga and dined-n-dashed at the Imperial Buffet.

It's not as bad as it sounds. It was the Anime North volunteer appreciation lunch. Volunteers like J get to gorge themselves for free. Guests may gorge themselves for $10. A small price for hating yourself and regretting your life decisions. He couldn't find the lunch coordinator so we didn't pay. The end.

Then I picked up Wolfblade at the Value Village next door.

Nothing else important happened on Saturday.

Sunday:

Monica got MARRIED. Six months ago she was feeding me shitty pasta and binging on TV. Now she gets to feed Andrew shitty pasta while binging on TV.

The Coptic Christian Orthodox ceremony was 1.5 hours long. There were at least a dozen deacons and lots of singing and praying. The program was 28 pages long. In a Coptic Orthodox ceremony you get a robe, oil anointment, and a crown. I couldn't actually tell at which part they WERE married (probably when the crowns came on). Prior to the ceremony a "Father Max" said "I hope you enjoy the ceremony!" Luckily we couldn't find him after because the best I could say would be "It was very spiritual and meaningful and I am very happy that their new life is starting off on a good foot." The best dressed person was clearly the bride but the second best dressed person was her mom. I mean dammmn it was a beaded nude peach lace mermaid dress that a girl could get married in if she wanted to!

The reception was in Vaughan. It did not have an open bar but there was wine at every table. The acoustics were horrible and rendered the MC unintelligble. The food was run-of-the-mill banquet food, except for the hors d'oeuvres, which were excellent, maybe because I was very hungry upon arrival. Dessert stations were nice. There were waffles. I couldn't appreciate them because I was full. Also photobooth. Photobooth good. This blog post boring. The end.

... Not actually the end.

Near the middle of the reception there was a video skit set to That Don't Impress Me Much. The whole thing was very Monica and HER DOG BAILEY had a cameo. Then I cried during the parent dances. Both of them - I barely even know the groom.

J drove us back to Guelph at about 1.

The end of this post for real now.
